Pastoral Search Committee Update

Greetings Trinity Grace Church,

We are writing today to begin our monthly updates to you regarding the search for our new pastor. Before getting into this month’s details, we want you know that we are aware of the trust you have placed in us and are humbled to serve you in this role as we guide our church through this process. We believe it is essential for our church community to remain steadfast in prayer throughout this process as we seek God’s will in the calling of our next pastor.

Search Update

The search process will unfold through four phases:

1. Preparation – The committee organizes, gathers information, and develops profiles of the church and the pastor. (Current phase)

2. Collection – The committee designs and implements the process for gathering and interviewing candidates.

3. Evaluation – Candidates are prayerfully reviewed, ranked, and narrowed to a final selection.

4. Selection – The final candidate is presented to the congregation for consideration and call.

The Pastoral Search Committee is currently in Phase 1: Preparation, the first of four phases in our process to lead the entire congregation through the identification of our next pastor. During this phase, the committee has organized its work, selected leadership, and begun developing both the church profile and the pastor profile that will guide the search ahead. As a reminder the Pastoral Search Committee includes:

The committee has selected the following individuals to serve in the respective committee leadership positions:

  • Guillermo Dekat – Chair

  • Britany McCanlies – Co/Vice-Chair

  • Renee Davis – Prayer Leader

  • Jordan Wright – Secretary

A Call to Prayer

As mentioned earlier, this season is a time for us to seek the Lord together. The most important work of the search is not in meetings or documents, but in prayer—that our church would listen for God’s leading and be renewed in love and unity as we wait upon Him.

With that at the forefront of the committee’s mind and heart, we have prepared a Phase 1 Prayer Plan, available both in print and as a downloadable PDF that is attached to this email. It contains scripture passages and prayer points to guide your personal and family devotions throughout this first stage of the search.

We encourage every member and household to take one and use it regularly as we all continue to pray faithfully, serve actively, and trust confidently in God’s providence as He leads our church.
